Client Referral Contest

Dear Clients,

I'm excited to announce that starting March, 9th 2009, I am starting a new client referral contest. Here is how it works: we will track the source of every new referral, and at the end of April the client who's referred the most people will win a cool 8 GB iPod Nano.

In addition to the contest I will still be giving clients a $15 credit for every new person they refer. When your referral books their appointment they will receive 50% off their first haircut.

New Year New Hair Style Trends

Well the Spring predictions are in, Long Hair is going smooth and styled. I'm sorry to say the beachy tousled styles of the last couple of years are taking a back seat. Polished Locks are in, these cuts highlight face framing layers and long layers throughout, keeping the bottom a little heavier. Glamorous long hair is in again, but beware this up and coming look takes a little time to style.

Time to grow that bob out a bit longer because one of the hottest new hair trends is the Long Bob. This hairstyle will be versatile enough to go as glam as it needs to be, or sleek and straight for work. This look suits almost anyone and can be tailored to your face and hair so style it up or not.

Bangs are still in so keep working that in to your style and don't forget to come in and get your bang trims!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In an effort to increase awareness I thought I'd do a little research and bring together some stats about breast cancer and some Internet resources regarding this disease.

According to the American Cancer Society:
  • About 182,460 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer this year.
  • About 40,480 women will die from the disease this year.
  • There are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
  • Woman have about 1 in 8 chance of developing invasive breast cancer.
  • The chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35.
Even though the risk of developing breast cancer is real and serious, I did find that deaths from breast cancer are on the decline. Increased awareness, early diagnosis, research and advances in treatments have contributed significantly to the decline. I know us women have been bombarded with information about breast cancer over the years, but how much do you really know? I've posted some links to handful of great sites that have a wealth of information about breast cancer.
